On 27 September, the Technical University of Liberec will host an expo of nanotechnology companies called NanoCzech, the largest nanotechnology event in the history of the Czech nano industry to date. Come and see how the world we can only observe under an electron microscope works and discover everything that can be done within it. Want to find out what edible nanofibres are for, or try out the nanofibre facial masks that are all the rage today? You can do exactly that at NANOCZECH.

Clothing made of nanomaterials and edible nanofibres
NANOCZECH is a unique opportunity to discover just how diverse nanotechnologies are in Czechia and why we are among the world leaders in the field.
“You will find out how air purification using smart wall coatings works, as well as antibacterial clothing that destroys odours. You will be able to handle bedding with a nanofibre membrane, a revolutionary solution for people allergic to dust. At NANOCZECH you can also try cosmetic masks made of nanofibres, which are becoming increasingly popular in Czechia,” explains Jiří Kůs, Chairman of the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association.
NANOCZECH will also feature leading Czech experts in the development of nanofibre products made from natural and even edible ingredients. At the conference you will discover what edible nanofibres can be used for and how they are made.
Nanotechnologies are becoming increasingly popular in Czechia
Nanotechnologický průmysl s koncem pandemie zaznamenal obrovskou proměnu, dle reportu nanoSPACE vzrostly prodeje nanovlákenných pleťových masek o 135,9 %, ale i oblečení z nanomateriálů o 14,10 %. Polštáře, přikrývky a povlečení z nanovlákenného materiálu pro alergiky zaznamenávaly obrovský boom v posledních třech letech, kdy meziročně rostly prodeje o 70–140 %.

One third of all electron microscopes are made in Brno
You will also meet one of the largest manufacturers of electron microscopes. The Czech Republic is at the absolute forefront of the world in this field. Did you know that one third of the electron microscopes used by scientists around the world were made in Brno?
The industrial production of nanofibre, which the Czech Republic — specifically Liberec — gave to the world, was a major breakthrough that made it possible to use this highly innovative material in a range of products. At the CZECH NANO expo you will meet the Liberec-based manufacturer of nanofibre production machinery, Elmarco.

The exhibition of nanotechnology products will be accompanied by a rich programme of lectures and panel discussions on nanotechnologies and the innovation potential of the Czech Republic and Europe. The discussions will involve not only Czech scientists, entrepreneurs and politicians, but also prominent international guests from the field.
The Technical University of Liberec is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year
The Technical University of Liberec is associated with the birth of nanotechnologies in the Czech Republic. This year it celebrates 70 years since its founding, and at the same time 20 years since the creation of the technology for the industrial production of nanofibres. One of the events that will form part of the celebrations is a major nanotechnology conference and an expo of the very best of the Czech nano industry.
Admission to the expo is free
NANOCZECH will take place in the auditorium of Building G of the Technical University of Liberec and will be open to the general public free of charge.
