Domažlice, 17 June 2026 – The Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association (ANP ČR) held the kick-off meeting of the Bavarian-Czech Nanotechnology Centre (BYCZ10-275) project in Domažlice, supported under the Interreg Bavaria–Czech Republic programme. The project’s lead partner is the Bavarian network Nanonetz Bayern e.V., with the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association as the Czech partner.
The project aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation between Czech and Bavarian companies, research organisations and institutions active in nanotechnology, advanced materials and related technological fields. Its ambition is to create a long-term, sustainable platform for sharing know-how, supporting innovation, technology transfer and the formation of new business and research partnerships.
The kick-off meeting was attended by representatives of a number of prominent organisations from the Czech Republic and Germany, including HF Servis, IQS Group, NanoTrade, Advanced Materials JTJ, Nanospace, NETZSCH Gerätebau, NETZSCH Feinmahltechnik, Iris Biotech, Sigmund Lindner, FutureCarbon, the European Centre for Dispersion Technologies (EZD), Chemnitz University of Technology and other partners from the fields of research, industry and innovation support.
The programme of the meeting included an introduction of the project partners and presentations of the activities of the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association, Nanonetz Bayern, the European Centre for Dispersion Technologies (EZD) and other participating organisations. Discussions focused in particular on opportunities for developing cross-border cooperation, supporting innovation and connecting research institutions with industry. The programme also featured a presentation of educational activities aimed at developing entrepreneurship and start-ups in the field of nanotechnology.
“Both the Czech Republic and Bavaria have a strong base of innovative companies, research organisations and technology centres. Through the Bavarian-Czech Nanotechnology Centre project, we want to create a lasting platform that will enable more intensive cooperation between the two regions, support the launch of new projects and help transfer research results into industrial practice,” said Jiří Kůs, Chairman of the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association.
According to Peter Grambow of Nanonetz Bayern, the project represents a significant opportunity to further develop cross-border cooperation. “Bavaria and the Czech Republic have exceptional potential in the field of nanotechnology and advanced materials. Thanks to the project, we can systematically connect companies, research institutions and other partners, and create new opportunities for innovation and economic development across the whole region.”
During the implementation of the project, specialist workshops, networking events and regular joint partner meetings will be organised on both sides of the border. The activities will focus on sharing experience, presenting technological capabilities, supporting technology transfer and developing new partnerships between companies, universities and research organisations.
The Bavarian-Czech Nanotechnology Centre (BYCZ10-275) project is co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg Bavaria–Czech Republic programme.
