Nanotechnology for water purification

Access to good-quality drinking water and water management is a major topic across the world. Czech nanotechnology companies have therefore made water purification one of their priorities, and a number of technologies are already commercially available.

FN AQUA®

An eco-friendly product for purifying water in swimming pools and garden ponds while reducing the use of pool chemicals

The FN ®AQUA suspension contains a patent-protected formula with mineral additives and a high content of photoactive titanium dioxide (TiO2), which is chemically identical to the food colouring titanium white, a substance that is widely used in the food industry as well as in cosmetics.

ASTRALPOOL NanoFiber

A filter with a nanofibre cartridge for private pools of up to 90 m3, offering high-quality filtration

While the filtration efficiency of the most commonly used sand filters starts at 20 microns, the capture capacity of the nanofibre cartridge is 5-8 microns. The nanofibre filter does not have to be removed from the unit for cleaning. The automatic system recognises the right time to clean the filter and cleans the cartridge itself.

Clutex Filter

Home filtration unit for purifying water of microplastics and other inorganic impurities

In addition to microplastics, the Clutex Filter unit also filters out rust, limescale and other inorganic impurities originating from water pipes. The main filtration component of the Clutex Filter home filtration unit is the replaceable RIF- TELEN ®N15 nanofibre membrane, which captures particles from 5 µm.

LIFEUVM®

The medium-pressure UV-M system is the only UV technology that disinfects pool water thoroughly while also being gentle and safe

Medium-pressure UV lamps eliminate combined chlorine in pools, which is responsible for the typical swimming-pool smell and a range of health problems. They save fresh water and are suitable for use with babies and asthmatics alike.

LifeOX® (AOP)

The most effective and most compact system for reducing substances harmful to health in pool water

The LifeOX®-M water treatment technology uses medium-pressure UV-M systems and OH radicals, whose oxidation potential and oxidation rate significantly surpass even ozone. The AOP (advanced oxidation process) breaks down hazardous monochloramine, dichloramine and trichloramine, while also oxidising organic substances (sweat, urine) in pool water.

Nanotechnology for smart cities

The Nanotechnology for Smart Cities as a Tool of Sustainable Development project was created with support under the Czech Republic’s foreign development cooperation programme.
