FN Nano, a member of the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association (ANP ČR) focused on the use of nanotechnology in photocatalysis, has long supported the introduction of the CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e) into Czech legislation as a single indicator of the climate impact of greenhouse gases. Climate policy is based on a different logic from protecting the air against pollution. Its main yardstick should be the balance of greenhouse gas emissions and removals, expressed in a common unit – the CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e). This makes it possible to compare the contribution of different gases to warming over a given time horizon.
