Selb, 22 September 2026 – Czech and Bavarian companies, research organisations and other representatives of the nanotechnology sector met in Selb, Germany, as part of the project Interreg Bavaria–Czech Republic BY-CZ 10-275 – Bavaria–Czech Nanotechnology Centre. The aim of the meeting was to present new technologies, connect partners on both sides of the border and seek specific opportunities for joint projects.
The meeting was hosted by the European Centre for Dispersion Technologies (EZD). Participants were welcomed by Felipe Wolff-Fabris together with representatives of the partner organisations, Peter Grambow of Nanonetz Bayern and Jiří Kůs of the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association (ANP ČR). The Czech Consul in Munich, Lukáš Opatrný, praised the developing Czech-Bavarian cooperation in his speech and offered support with communication and promotion of joint project activities.
The expert programme showed the breadth of topics that can connect Czech and Bavarian partners. Presentations included, for example, technologies for batteries and energy storage, nanostructured materials, membranes and rapid detection of microorganisms, water purification, the production of nanoparticle suspensions and the industrial production of nanofibres. Representatives of Future Carbon, Coburg University, Hydrotec, Nanospace, IQS Group, HE3DA, FN NANO, Elmarco and NETZSCH Feinmahltechnik presented their activities.
Another important part of the programme was also the search for specific partners for new projects. German participants presented several opportunities for cooperation with Czech companies and research institutions, including in the areas of redox flow batteries, membrane technologies and materials research. The options for funding joint Czech-German research and innovation projects were also discussed.
The afternoon part of the programme offered participants a tour of the EZD laboratories and a visit to NETZSCH Feinmahltechnik. The expert part was followed by a discussion focused on specific topics of future cooperation.
The full-day meeting concluded with an informal Stammtisch, which provided further space for personal contacts, networking and discussion of possible joint activities.
The meeting in Selb confirmed the main idea of the Bavaria–Czech Nanotechnology Centre project: to connect Czech and Bavarian companies and research organisations so that new contacts lead to specific cross-border cooperation and joint projects.
