Nanotechnology for Cambodia
The main problem is the lack of quality drinking water and inadequate sanitation. (Analysis of the country’s needs)
- Population: 16,632,000
- Capital city: Phnom Penh
- Country classification according to OECD/DAC by GNI per capita: lower-income country
How we can help
An overview of the smart city technologies that are most relevant for Cambodia. A complete overview of Czech nanotechnologies for smart cities can be found here.
Water filtration
Water purification (FN AQUA)
FN AQUA is a special suspension for water filtration that uses purely physical phenomena to remove molecules and microscopic particles of organic impurities and microorganisms.
Tap water filtration (Clutex Filter)
A household filtration device for purifying water from microplastics and other inorganic impurities. The filtration efficiency of the Clutex Filter device, measured on model water containing 0.1% polymer particles 2.5–132.8 μm in size, is 96.95%.
Industry and waste
Industrial filtration of oils and other liquids
Nanofibre membranes are a highly suitable medium for the mechanical filtration of liquids in the production of oils, spirits, beer, wine and other beverages.
Energy storage and savings
Nano batteries (HE3DA)
Batteries for the safe storage of large volumes of electrical energy.
Nano optics (NANOPTIQS)
A special treatment of light fittings that makes it possible to direct light from the source in any direction, at any angle and within any beam of light. This dramatically increases lighting efficiency.
Help during the pandemic
Czech nanotechnology companies manufacture face masks, respirators and mask filters made from nanofibre. These protective aids offer excellent capture of particles 80–200 nm in size, which corresponds to the average size of a virus.
Nano face masks
Face masks with nanofibre for effective protection.
Nanofilters
Nano mask filters specially developed to combat coronaviruses.
Nano respirators
Respirators with nanofibre for effective protection.
Nano masks
Protective half-mask respirators with nanofilters.
