Radomír Pánek of the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences has become the candidate for President of the Czech Academy of Sciences for the upcoming term. He was elected from among the applicants for the post by the participants of the 64th session of the Academic Assembly of the Czech Academy of Sciences, held on 10 December 2024 at the National House in Prague’s Vinohrady district. Dr Jan Procházka, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Nanotechnology Industries Association of the Czech Republic, attended this session as a member of the Academic Assembly of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
The report on the activities of the Academic Council of the Czech Academy of Sciences for the period since the 63rd session of the Academic Assembly was presented by the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prof. RNDr. Eva Zažímalová, CSc., dr.h.c., who deserves great thanks for steering the Academy through difficult times and back to stable operation.
