Kandidátem na předsedu Akademie věd ČR pro příští období se stal Radomír Pánek z Ústavu fyziky plazmatu AV ČR. Z uchazečů o funkci ho zvolili účastníci LXIV. zasedání Akademického sněmu AV ČR, které se konalo 10. prosince 2024 v pražském Národním domě na Vinohradech. Dr. Jan Procházka, předseda dozorčí rady Asociace nanotechnologického průmyslu ČR, se jako člen Akademického sněmu AV ČR zúčastnil tohoto zasedání. 

The report on the activities of the Academic Council of the Czech Academy of Sciences for the period since the 63rd session of the Academic Assembly was presented by the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prof. RNDr. Eva Zažímalová, CSc.,  dr.h.c., who deserves great thanks for steering the Academy through difficult times and back to stable operation. 

We would also like to congratulate the newly elected President, Prof. RNDr. Radomír Pánek, Ph.D., on his election and look forward to continued constructive cooperation.
