On Tuesday 2 February, the Innovation Centre of the Ústí Region, together with the CzechInvest agency and the Ústí Region, announced the best corporate innovations of 2020. In the small and medium-sized enterprise category, Pardam Nano4fibers took first place, earning the title of Innovation Company of the Ústí Region for 2020 for the development and refinement of a nanofibre material and for launching the mass production of a respirator that obtained FFP2 certification.

“In November 2020 we entered our product into this competition under FFP2 certification, and I can proudly say that just this January 2021 we also obtained FFP3 certification,” says the company’s director Jan Buk, adding: “The award goes above all to our team, who do incredible work, because it was a hectic year – and I believe not only for us. In the spring of 2020 there were 8 of us in the company; now there are over 50. We managed to produce 5,000 respirators a month; today it is 1.8 million FFP2 and FFP3 respirators a month. So this award belongs to the team for a year of hard graft.”

The competition was organised by the Innovation Centre of the Ústí Region, the Ústí Region and the regional office of the CzechInvest agency. Its partners were Komerční banka, the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem and the Chamber of Commerce of the Ústí Region. The event was held with the support of the project Support and Development of the Innovation Environment in the Ústí Region.
