The Czech company PARDAM NANO4FIBERS s.r.o. has succeeded in developing, manufacturing and subsequently certifying a nanofibre respirator meeting the criteria of the highest FFP3 protection class. It is thus the first reusable, valveless FFP3-class nanofibre respirator manufactured in the Czech Republic.
„Since the spring we have been working on the full certification of a respirator that would meet the parameters for the highest FFP3 protection class. I am pleased that after several months of development and testing we have become the first in the Czech Republic to certify a nanofibre respirator that is also unique worldwide.” says the company’s director Jan Buk, adding „Thanks in part to support from the RISE-UP project, we have significantly increased our production capacity, streamlined our manufacturing processes and are now able to produce up to 800,000 units per month”.
The BreaSAFE® CLASSIC FFP3 respirator is unique not only because it contains nanofibre produced using centrifugal spinning technology, which Pardam has been developing for over ten years and which gives it exceptional properties in terms of high capture efficiency, but also because, thanks to the outstanding breathability of the material used, it does not need to have the exhalation valve typical of FFP3 respirators. The absence of an exhalation valve allows the user to protect not only themselves but also those around them, since potential viruses and bacteria are not released into the surroundings. Thanks to the nanomembrane, resistance to moisture is increased, so that with proper care the respirator can be used for several days as protection against viruses and bacteria.
The effectiveness of the nanofibre respirators was also confirmed by measurements from the world testing laboratory NELSON LABS in the USA, which officially confirmed that the nanofibre membrane contained in the BreaSAFE® CLASSIC FFP3 respirator captures 99.5 to 99.9% of viruses. It is therefore one of the safest means of protecting yourself against a viral disease such as the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes the Covid-19 disease.
Alongside the certification of the nanofibre respirators, we also succeeded in certifying our BreaSAFE® COMMUNITY MASK community masks to the FFP2 protection class. These masks are very popular with the general public for their light weight and durability. In addition to protecting their wearer excellently, they fit the face perfectly and can be kept with you at all times.
During the spring wave of the pandemic, PARDAM NANO4FIBERS s.r.o. was one of the selected suppliers of Czech respirators to the state. It helped doctors, healthcare workers and everyone else fighting the disease on the front line.
