Prime Minister Petr Fiala Visited NAFIGATE Park and Backed Czech Innovation in Nanotechnology
Liberec/Chrastava, Czech Republic – The Czech Republic is a land of nanofibre, with no competition within the EU. On Wednesday 13 March 2024, Prime Minister Petr Fiala visited the premises of one of the Czech manufacturers of nanofibre membrane, the company NAFIGATE Park s.r.o. in Chrastava near Liberec. The aim was to gain first-hand acquaintance with Czech innovation in the field of nanotechnology.
NAFIGATE Park, located in the historic premises of a former textile mill, hosted the Prime Minister in cooperation with the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association. During his visit, the Prime Minister met with representatives and explored the technologies of NAFIGATE Park, nanoSPACE and Nanopharma, where he had the opportunity to examine the latest advances in nanotechnology at first hand. The range of Czech nanotechnology products spans from effective air filtration through medical supplies to circular cosmetics free of preservatives.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Fiala moved on to NAFIGATE Park’s nanofibre production and research and development centre. „NAFIGATE Park, which we visited today, is a good example of how nanotechnology can revitalise a region and bring our economy the innovation it needs,“ said Prime Minister Fiala.

The Prime Minister stressed that innovation is the key to creating high-quality, value-added products and to creating well-paid jobs for citizens. „I want high value-added products to form the backbone of our modern economy and thereby contribute to greater competitiveness as part of the Restart of the Czech Republic,“ he added.
Prime Minister Fiala’s visit to NAFIGATE Park and his support for Czech innovation in nanotechnology represents an important step towards the further development of the nanotechnology industry in the Czech Republic.
