Kondomy z\u00a0latexu obohacen\u00e9ho nanovl\u00e1kny celul\u00f3zy jsou nejen pevn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed ne\u017e b\u011b\u017en\u00e9 kondomy, ale mohou dokonce b\u00fdt tenk\u00e9 zhruba jako pr\u016fm\u011br lidsk\u00e9ho vlasu. Takov\u00e9 kondomy by si mohly z\u00edskat zna\u010dnou popularitu. V\u011bdci UT Southwestern Medical Center vytvo\u0159ili d\u016fmysln\u00e9 nano\u010d\u00e1stice ze \u201ezl\u00e9ho cholesterolu\u201c, \u010dili n\u00edzkodenzitn\u00edho lipoproteinu (LDL) a ryb\u00edho tuku , tedy omega-3 nenasycen\u00fdch mastn\u00fdch kyselin. Experimenty s\u00a0laboratorn\u00edmi potkany uk\u00e1zaly, \u017ee tyto unik\u00e1tn\u00ed nano\u010d\u00e1stice velice p\u0159esn\u011b a \u00fa\u010dinn\u011b c\u00edl\u00ed na bu\u0148ky rakoviny jater. In\u017een\u00fd\u0159i Katal\u00e1nsk\u00e9ho institutu nanov\u011bdy a nanotechnologie (ICN2) nab\u00edzej\u00ed velmi \u0161ikovnou, v\u016f\u010di prost\u0159ed\u00ed \u0161etrnou a hlavn\u011b lacinou technologii, se kterou lze vytvo\u0159it struktury z oxidu grafenu na rozmanit\u00fdch substr\u00e1tech, v\u010detn\u011b pap\u00edru, textilu nebo PET plastu. Postup je prost\u00fd a zahrnuje t\u0159i kroky: tisk, filtrov\u00e1n\u00ed a stla\u010den\u00ed. Touto technologi\u00ed lze vyrobit LEDky, elektrody, sol\u00e1rn\u00ed \u010dl\u00e1nky, biosenzory nebo superkapacitory. Produkuj\u00ed velice jasn\u00e9 a st\u00e1le laserov\u00e9 sv\u011btlo, tak\u017ee se vylo\u017een\u011b nab\u00edz\u00ed jejich vyu\u017eit\u00ed v\u00a0optoelektronice. Podobn\u00e9 nanolasery mohou p\u0159en\u00e1\u0161et informaci rychlost\u00ed sv\u011btla, mnohem rychleji ne\u017e v\u00a0tradi\u010dn\u00ed elektronice. Na Harvardu ned\u00e1vno zjistili, \u017ee se elektrony v\u00a0grafenu chovaj\u00ed jako kapalina. Aby toho dos\u00e1hli, tak museli vylep\u0161it postup v\u00fdroby ultra\u010dist\u00e9ho grafenu. Tak\u00e9 p\u0159itom vyvinuli novou metodu, jak zm\u011b\u0159it tepelnou vodivost grafenu. To m\u00e1 v\u00fdznamn\u00e9 d\u016fsledky pro v\u00fdvoj pr\u016fmyslov\u00fdch aplikac\u00ed grafenu. Mimo jin\u00e9 je i \u00fa\u010dinn\u00fdm fotokatalyz\u00e1torem, a po oz\u00e1\u0159en\u00ed UV paprsky rozkl\u00e1d\u00e1 r\u016fzn\u00e9 l\u00e1tky. Proto\u017ee nen\u00ed toxick\u00fd, lze ho pou\u017e\u00edvat i k\u00a0odstra\u0148ov\u00e1n\u00ed kontaminac\u00ed v\u00a0\u017eivotn\u00edm prost\u0159ed\u00ed. Pot\u00ed\u017e je v\u00a0tom, \u017ee UV z\u00e1\u0159en\u00ed p\u0159edstavuje jen asi p\u011bt procent slune\u010dn\u00edho svitu, tak\u017ee b\u011b\u017en\u00fd oxid titani\u010dit\u00fd nen\u00ed jako fotokatalyz\u00e1tor praktick\u00fd. Nanotechnologov\u00e9 na Univerzit\u011b v\u00a0Alicante ale vytvo\u0159ili \u010dernou formu t\u00e9to slou\u010deniny, kter\u00e1 absorbuje slune\u010dn\u00ed z\u00e1\u0159en\u00ed mnohem v\u011bt\u0161\u00edho rozsahu spektra a m\u016f\u017ee se uplatnit v\u00a0\u010di\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed vody i ovzdu\u0161\u00ed. V\u011bdci z\u00a0Caltechu ned\u00e1vno zjistili, \u017ee schr\u00e1nky rozsivek vykazuj\u00ed nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00ed tr\u017enou d\u00e9lku (vyjad\u0159uj\u00edc\u00ed pevnost materi\u00e1lu v\u00a0souvislosti s\u00a0jeho hustotou), ze v\u0161ech zn\u00e1m\u00fdch biologick\u00fdch materi\u00e1l\u016f. P\u0159ekonaj\u00ed v\u00a0tom i kosti, parohy nebo zuby. Schr\u00e1nky rozsivek maj\u00ed por\u00e9zn\u00ed strukturu, kter\u00e1 je prod\u011brav\u011bn\u00e1 otvory, tvarem p\u0159ipom\u00ednaj\u00edc\u00edmi v\u010del\u00ed pl\u00e1stev.
